Two measuring heads
The MiniProfBT TwinHead systems are similar to the single head systems, but consist of two measuring heads mounted on a fixed support. The two opposing profiles are measured one after the other. The measurements are stored and accessible as individual profiles and in pairs in a common coordinate system. This provides high accuracy of the measuring device and precise knowledge of each rotation of the profiles, which is an essential part of any wheel and rail interaction study.

Equivalent conicity
As trains are getting faster and faster, there is an increasing demand for better travel comfort and insurance with a high level of safety. To this end, it is very important to study the interaction between wheel and rail, how the contact geometry behaves. The equivalent conicity is an extremely useful parameter when studying this dynamic interaction between rail vehicle and track.
