Magnetic handling

Home » Magnet technology » Magnetic handling

Handling magnets are suitable for the automated picking up, setting down or positioning of iron, steel or other ferromagnetic objects with a limited weight. All products can be switched on and off and have a threaded hole for attachment to a robot.

The lifting magnets can be used to move and position ferromagnetic workpieces (often made of steel) in various shapes and lengths without damaging them. You save valuable storage space and time.

With the help of spreading magnets, it is possible to pick up sheets individually. This is important, as a so-called double sheet can cause considerable damage to the expensive mold in the production machine. Unstacking is particularly difficult with oiled or burred sheets. The lower sheets in a stack in particular are pressed together so tightly by the heavy weight that they stick together and are difficult to separate.

Pneumatic grippers

Product details:

– Fast pneumatic switching

– Equipped with permanent magnets

– End-of-arm tooling from robot/cobot

Pneumatic magnetic grippers allow you to safely process steel workpieces and sheets at high speed and with precision. Grippers – also known as end effectors – are ideal for speeding up or automating your production process. Stable, safe and precise: robot grippers are a reliable end-of-arm solution thanks to their bistable design.

Electronic grippers

Product details:

– Handling more complex and difficult

ferromagnetic workpieces

– Keep up to date with smart, sensory

Feedback control

– Robust design without moving parts

– Fail-safe thanks to bistable design

Electromagnetic e-grippers help with the safe, efficient and consistent handling of ferromagnetic workpieces. In intelligent product environments, good speed and precision are basic requirements for magnetic grippers or end effectors. Energy efficiency and safety are also crucial.

MagVacu® combination gripper

Product details:

– For ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic

Products

– Pneumatically switchable

– End-of-arm tooling from robot/cobot

– Combining magnets with vacuum technology

MagVacu combi grippers are the ideal solution if you work with steel sheets as well as stainless steel or aluminum sheets. Thanks to its flexibility, the gripper is perfect for use with laser cutters, in automotive production lines and in the sheet steel industry. You can easily pick up perforated, curved and flat metal sheets with the MagVacu gripper.

The magnetic function can be controlled pneumatically and is designed for fast cycles. A bistable design ensures that you never drop the workpiece, even in the event of a power failure or malfunction.

Electro holding magnets

Product details:

– For picking up, positioning or holding

of products

– Gearshift: electric

– Easy to install

– the central threaded hole at the rear

facilitates assembly

– the maximum shear force is approx. 1/4
of the maximum holding force

Electro holding magnets are used to pick up, position and hold steel elements. Thanks to their round shape and the threaded hole at the bottom, they are ideal for adding to existing systems.

These solenoids are switched on and off electrically.

The round electro holding magnets have a flat magnetic field. This makes them particularly suitable for picking up, holding and unloading thin steel objects up to 10 mm thick.

A known problem when picking up thin sheets with a powerful electro holding magnet is a magnetic field that is too deep, which causes the system to pick up several sheets at the same time. The use of many small electromagnets prevents this.

Magswitch handling magnets

Product details:

– For flat and round objects

>10 mm thickness

– Switching: pneumatic

– End-of-arm tooling from robot/cobot

– Permanent magnet

Pneumatic Magswitch handling solenoids are suitable for a wide range of end-of-arm applications, including those with robots.

They lift or grip ferromagnetic workpieces with flat or round surfaces such as pipes, cylinders, etc.

These handling magnets have a rectangular housing with optional interchangeable pole shoes. This allows them to be adapted to the shape of your product.

AR

Magswitch magnet for smaller objects up to 150 kg.
With three possible working levels, this lifting magnet offers maximum flexibility for use in various robot applications.

Type Play

This Magswitch lifting magnet is designed for applications where stability and force are important. It is ideal for long cylinders, pipes and rough surfaces.

Electric bar magnets

Product details:

– For small objects

– Gearshift: electric

– End-of-arm tooling from robot/cobot

– Electromagnet

Electromagnetic bar magnets are suitable for quickly and safely picking up, holding and placing small steel parts such as sheet metal, pipes and rejects. This is done with robots or pick-and-place machines.

Suitable for use in warehouses or conveyor systems, in plant construction and for loading and unloading machines.

Expanding magnets

Product details:

– A spreading magnet for every sheet thickness

– Prevents double sheets/sticking together

Sheets

– Does not require a power connection

– Compact and easy to install

– Durable construction

With the help of spreading magnets, also known as sheet metal fanners or fanner magnets, it is possible to pick up sheets individually. This is important, as a so-called double sheet can cause considerable damage to the expensive mold in the production machine. Unstacking is particularly difficult with oily or burred sheets. The lower sheets of a stack in particular are pressed together so tightly by the heavy weight that they stick together and are difficult to separate.

Expanding solenoids are reliable and durable magnetic systems and require only a minimum of maintenance. They are available in various versions, including permanent magnetic or switchable. The magnetic force is retained even after years of use. Expanding magnets can separate steel sheets up to a thickness of 4 mm and almost any shape, length and width. Round or asymmetrical shapes are also possible.

Switchable spreading solenoids

Suitable for automatic processes. Sheet stacks can be easily added or changed.
Pneumatically or manually switchable (on/off).

Spreader magnets neodymium
Strong and compact. Suitable for separating oily, sticky or perforated steel sheets.

Spreader magnets ferrite
Ferrite spreader magnets are a cost-effective solution for steel sheets that only adhere weakly to each other. These separating magnets are particularly suitable for dry, thin sheets that can be easily separated.

Spreader magnets for special applications
Bar-shaped spreader magnet with a 360° magnetic field for sheets with complex contours. The ideal solution for tight spaces.
